Hey Everyone, So have been talking about the value and importance of quick wins to start the change “snowball” and thought it would be well worth getting some specific examples to share and inspire others. So what examples of quick wins you have implemented with either a new or existing system that helped you kick start change ???? Please share your examples in the comments below!

This one came up at the community event last week too but focused on Analytics. Quick wins were so important to build support, momentum and overall project success.

Hi, @HannahM quick wins I have seen in companies are reduced support tickets for customers and employees. With most being mundane and repetitive an easy one to automate.

Thanks Marie, One quick win i have definitely seen in finance around “cases/Queries” is payment dates. Sending out purchase ledger remittances is one way to reduce enquiries around what invoice has been allocated/when it will be paid. Amazing how many companies do not do this regularly!

Back in the days I was using Oracle EBS (yes, it was a long time ago), we were doing all of our Fixed Assets, Accruals, Prepayments, FX revals etc in spreadsheets and posted the journals at month end. One day I noticed that there was a fixed assets module and it was 90% configured. I added my assets into there and it calculated the depreciation for me and autoposted that journal. The values matched my calcs. So our team started to investigate all of the other things the Oracle could do and eliminated a lot of spreadsheet grunt work. Although we didn’t completely eliminate them as the ex-auditors in the team insisted on keeping them going to check that the system was doing what it was supposed to.

Anyway, this snowballed, and got us all working much more efficiently, making use of tools that we already had.

In terms of my career, it also opened my eyes to how quickly change and improvement was possible and I have never looked back
