Interesting result!
I personal fit in to the VERY important camp – the majority.
Is this because I’m an extrovert? A team builder / promoter personality type, or trying to be a good leader?

Depends on the organisation you work for, if you’re part of a smaller finance team that is a support function to the business, the events are mostly for the benefit of the other staff, but it is still important to get away from the desk every now and then!

It would also be nice to understand which team building events are more suitable for bonding teams within a Company

I suppose you can’t please everyone all the time, but I would say a challenge, a game, something sociable and definitely NOT work!

Pretty important! –
When at Defra I went to the Peak District to look at restoration projects with the team…
When at Environment Agency I took a group of my team and our key customers into the Thames Barrier and walked under the river…
When at the Open Data Institute I set up ‘Post Its at the Pub’ – which was a team building session where anyone could come and talk about personal development…
