    Is transactional processing a job in 21st century?

    I had an exchange with a young accountant today that led me to ask this fundamental question.

    He was trying to understand the ‘non existent’ tech capabilities in his organisation, when everything he knows from school to personal experience is underpinned by tech.

    What do you think we should be doing to automate transactional processing?

    Update from the IFOL conference London. AP transactional financial benefits start at 2 head or 50-60k invoices a year.

    But soft benefits are also a driver; ie CFOs may want better reporting, high value work, better compliance.

    Particularly with ESG reporting growing as a requirement.
