Agility is the ability to change direction quickly and easily.

It is often used to describe the ability of an organisation or team to respond quickly to changes in the market or environment. In business, agility can be important for a number of reasons.

In CFO organisation, we need to support and help manage this agility. For example, an agile company may be better able to adapt to changing customer needs or shifts in the competitive landscape.

Agility can also refer to the ability of an individual to think on their feet and come up with creative solutions to problems.

As finance leaders, we need to respond to this demand, and present options, recommendations, and even solutions as strategic business partners. Agility can be fostered in an organization through a variety of means, including:

    1. Encouraging a culture of continuous learning and improvement
    2. Encouraging risk-taking and innovation
    3. Building cross-functional teams and fostering collaboration
    4. Being open to new ideas and ways of working
    5. Having strong leadership and clear communication channels to help facilitate change

Agility is not just important for businesses, but for individuals as well.

CFOs can help individuals adapt to new situations and challenges, and be more open to change.
